Church Mandarin & English Chinese Church Website Template
Living Water
A website for a Chinese church where Mandarin-speaking parents and grandparents and English-speaking children and students share one building and one calendar. It leads with the printed-program feel of a Chinese church bulletin, and it treats the church's most practical ministries, Friday fellowships and airport pickup for international students, as front-door actions.

- Built for
- Mandarin-speaking families from Taiwan and mainland China in the San Gabriel Valley, their English-speaking children, international students arriving at nearby universities, and seniors who came to join their grandchildren.
- Navigation
- Left sidebar. A fixed column holds the name, every page and the address, so nothing is ever more than one click away on desktop.
Names, photos, times and stories in this template are sample content. Your version uses your own words, photos and branding.

Why it looks this way.
- Typography
Noto Serif SC is a Song-style serif, the letterform of printed Chinese Bibles and hymnals, and its brush-shaped stroke endings make headlines feel set rather than typed. Body text is Noto Sans SC, which is Source Han Sans with Source Sans as its Latin, so Mandarin and English paragraphs share one height and weight. Times and room numbers are in IBM Plex Mono, like the typed insert slipped into a hymnal.

- Color
The site opens in ink: a blue-black taken from 墨, the stick ink of calligraphy, with porcelain blue from 青花 blue-and-white ware as the brand color. The accent is the vermilion of a name seal, used for live badges and the occasional highlight. The light theme turns the same palette into stone-coloured paper with cobalt ink, rather than simply inverting it.

- Layout
A fixed left sidebar keeps every page, the address and the main action in view, which suits a congregation that comes back to the site to check one time or one room. Page names are bilingual and specific: Sundays, Fellowships, Students, Sermons. On phones the sidebar folds into a compact top bar.

- Hero
The opening is a full-height photograph beside a column laid out like a printed order of service, with each language given its own hanging label, so both congregations see their own service time first. The photo is the church in Taichung where the senior pastor was baptised, its tower painted with 福音, and the caption says so. It ties a San Gabriel congregation to the place many of its founders came from without pretending the building is ours.
- Calls to action
The sidebar button says "Find a Friday fellowship" because Chinese churches live in their 团契: the Friday groups are where newcomers get known by name. "Request an airport pickup" serves the international students who arrive at LAX each August knowing nobody, and it is often how they first meet the church.
- Photography
Photos lean on tables, steaming pots, open Bibles and campuses instead of worship stages, partly because that is what this church looks like on a Friday and partly because honest pictures of Chinese-American congregations are hard to find. Water appears on the sermon page for the church's name, from John 4. Where faces appear, they are students and families who could plausibly sit in these pews.
- Accessibility
Each language carries its own lang attribute so screen readers switch voice and the right glyph forms load. Chinese body text gets 1.75 line spacing for legibility at phone sizes. Contrast passes 4.5:1 in both themes, and the hearing loop, large-print hymnals and step-free entrance are noted where visits are planned.
