We meet at 4:30 every Sunday in Lodge 41 on Ashworth Street. Here is the whole thing, honestly.
Doors open at 4:00. The piano starts at 4:25 and we begin on time.
Your first Sunday
Nobody will ask you to stand up, fill in a card or say anything.
Arrival
Come in the green side door off the alley. Bernie will be at the coffee urn and will hand you a printed order of service.
Seats
Eighty folding chairs in a half-circle. The back row is for parents with babies and people who'd like to leave early.

Kids start with us and go upstairs for the sermon. Molly and one other adult are always with them.
Length
About 75 minutes: songs, two readings, a sermon of about 25 minutes, prayers, and communion.
Communion
Bread and wine (or grape juice) every week. If you're not ready to take it, cross your arms and Isaac will pray for you instead.
Access
The side entrance is step-free. The hall is on one level; the kids' room is up a flight of stairs.
4:00 to 6:30, more or less
Bernie has the urn going. The bar stays roped off.
Songs from a printed sheet. Lyrics and chords on the back, for the musicians.
Isaac preaches through one book of the Bible at a time. This autumn: the Gospel of Luke.
Come forward to the table, or stay seated and we'll bring it to you.

Questions
Because the hall is free then, and because it suits the neighborhood: people who work Saturday nights, parents who need a slow morning, and anyone who likes the idea of church followed by supper.
A Protestant church that holds to the historic creeds. We read a lot of the Bible out loud, take communion every week and try to keep the service simple. The beliefs page has the longer answer.
A little, for about four minutes. Then it's soup and conversation. Nobody will make a fuss.
No. If you want to help, bring napkins. We always run out of napkins.
Most of the church happens around four dinner tables on Tuesday nights.
Design notes
A website for a church that is five Sundays old. It opens with a letter, because in a new church the pastor is the first thing a visitor is really weighing up, and every page is honest about how small and new it all is.
Literata was drawn for reading long text on screens, and here it carries a pastor's letter set like an editor's page in a neighborhood paper. IBM Plex Sans does the practical work underneath: plain and slightly industrial, like the mill buildings along the river. Isaac's signature is set in Nothing You Could Do, a loose handwriting face, and appears exactly once.
The red is Lawrenceville brick, the color of every second rowhouse on Ashworth Street, and the gold is the paint on the Allegheny bridges, used only for small marks. The background is a cool stone gray, close to a Pittsburgh sky in October. Dark mode turns the brick toward the glow of a sodium streetlight.
A contents column on the right tracks where you are on each page, the way a well-made report does. Newcomers to a church plant read everything before they come, and long honest pages with a visible table of contents respect that. The one button in that column always says Come Sunday at 4:30.
The site opens with a letter from Isaac Danquah, set like an editor's letter with a huge greeting, two columns and a small portrait. A new church has no building and no history to show off. What it has is a person and a reason, so we let him say it in his own words.
Come Sunday at 4:30, Pull up a chair on Tuesday, Get coffee with Isaac, Join the launch team. Each one names a real thing at a real time, which matters when the church does not have a sign out front yet.
Pictures are few and modest on purpose: streets that look like Lawrenceville, a dinner table, Bibles with pencil marks. We avoided stage lights and crowds, because a church of sixty in a lodge hall should not look like an arena.
Body text is 17 pixels with generous line spacing and passes AAA contrast in the light theme. The contents column is a labeled landmark that screen readers can jump to, and every map has its address, parking and transit written out as plain text.
Every text pairing is checked against WCAG 2.2 in both themes.
